Seattle Mudhoney are World Series Champions!

In a series that lived up to all of the hype the Seattle Mudhoney were able to repeat as Champions! Seattle won the series over the Atlanta Black Bears in seven games. In the series, Seattle took the first game and it was a close one. A single to the outfield in the top of the 9th clinched that win. Things then look VERY dire for the Mudhoney as the Black Bears took three straight, two of which were still close one-run games. In game four Atlanta rolled to a 11-4 win which really put Seattle's backs against the wall. Seattle and their pitching staff then rallied to throw two straight shutout games to even the series at three games. The final game headed back to Atlanta where the game was tied into the fourth inning. In the end a 16 hit performance was able to propel the Seattle Mudhoney to a 6-1 win and their second straight World Series title!

Congratulations Seattle Mudhoney and coach foolsgold79!

Season 4 Playoffs

RBI Playoffs (season 4)

The playoffs this season have been amazing!

For the AL:

The West division champions, Oakland Raiders, swept their first round opponents the Montreal Voyageurs.

The South division champions, Monterrey Gigantes, defeated the New York Yankees in four games.

In the second round, Oakland continued to play hot but came up short against the AL's best and lost in 5 games to the Seattle Mudhoney.

In the second round, it looked like the Cleveland Rocks were going to roll the series but Monterrey tied the series up at two games but Cleveland shut the door and got a shutout in game 5 to clinch the series.

In a much anticipated matchup in the ALCS, Cleveland couldn't find their groove against one of the league's best pitching staffs and Seattle was able to advance to the World Series for the second straight season in 5 games.

For the NL:

One of the wildcard teams advanced to the second round after sweeping the NL East champions, the Pittsburgh Stealers. That team who won in three was the Charlotte Queen City Royals.

The West division champions, the San Diego Squids, were able to defeat the Sante Fe Spurs. The series was back and forth and in game 5 San Diego was able to hang on down the stretch to win the game and the series by one run.

Division rivals met in the NLDS where Atlanta and their best overall record would not be denied to the next round as they defeated Charlotte in four games.

In the second round, #2 seeded Cincinnati Reds were very close to having the series locked up but two straight wins by San Diego prevented their shot at the NLCS. San Diego pulled out another series win in five games.

In the NLCS, you had a team who has been hot all season and had an easier road. The other had to scratch and claw to this point. Atlanta was able to continue to roll as they defeated San Diego 4-1 to advance to the World Series.

WORLD SERIES MATCHUP: #1 Seattle Mudhoney (115-47) vs #1 Atlanta Black Bears (116-46)
